A new fighter has been announced for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. The latest addition is Jecht, a character from Final Fantasy X. Jecht is the father of another Final Fantasy character, and has been in every previous Dissidia title to date.

Jecht appears to be a heavy hitter. As the trailer shows, he uses his large sword to punish players that get caught in his combos. Even though we see a blitzball at the beginning of the video, it doesn’t seem he relies as much on his underwater athletic skills as much as he does his brute strength.

Discussing the 3v3 battles, Kishimoto said, ?It?s six players. It?s not you controlling three characters, it?s you and two other buddies going against three people.? Asked what happens if you?re playing by yourself, he said, ?There will be an offline mode that you can play by yourself that?ll have five CPUs.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will release in early 2018 on the PlayStation 4. Square Enix will host a closed beta for the title later this summer, you can learn how to sign up for that here.
