Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Now Set for August 9 Release on PS4
Following a delay last month, Quantic Dream announced today that PlayStation 2 classic Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy is releasing on August 9 in North America and August 10 in Europe for PlayStation 4, priced at $14.99 USD.
Along with 1080p visuals, Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy for PS4 includes a Platinum Trophy (and 48 other Trophies). The two Gold Trophies task you with seeing all of the endings and beating every chapter on Hard difficulty. If you haven’t played Indigo Prophecy before, avoid looking at the Trophy list, as it contains major spoilers.
Quantic Dream’s Guillaume de Fondaumiere looked back at the development of Indigo Prophecy, talking about how the initial launch in 2005 (in partnership with Atari) followed skepticism from people they originally pitched it to:
This skepticism was so radical that we had to switch publishing partners during the last third of the game?s production. While we were showing off the beta version, a certain group of high-profile professionals even claimed that we would never be able to finish the game!
The reason for this skepticism was that we were creating something radically new, as we were attempting to resolve an equation that many thought was unsolvable: putting the story at the very core of an interactive experience and inventing gameplay that allowed players, through their actions and decisions, to change the way the story unfolds.
