'MsgMeWordGuess' is a Game For Your iOS 10 iMessage App
The upcoming MsgMeWordGuess (a bit of a railroad of a title) is planning on turning your iMessage conversations into word-game contests. Taking a cue from how Facebook tried to make it easy for friends to play games together (and failed by turning it into playing with randoms), the developers of MsgMeWordGuess plan to use iOS 10's new iMessage app to let you play a word game while chatting with your friends. According to the developers, Apple has declared iMessage its most popular iOS application, so it makes sense that being able to seamlessly incorporate a game into the app should probably work well in terms of finding an audience for the game.
Plugging a word game into iMessage makes sense since it allows for asynchronous play and already takes care of having to find opponents to play with. In an interesting blog post, the developers describe how playing a word game in the iMessage app often results in the words becoming a part of the conversation rather than an external part of it. I play quite a few word games, and I think it's a fun idea to be able to play a word game in iMessage. The game is coming out next week and will require iOS 10. If you want to check it out beforehand and have iOS already, go to our forum thread.
