Wargaming is celebrating 100 years of tanks with a special World of Tanks: Blitz [Free] event that sounds like great fun. The celebration is all about the Mark I, the first tank to roll on a battlefield, so you'll actually get your hands on one of those beasts rather than the technologically-advanced (for the time) WWII tanks we are so used to playing. So, in celebration of this event, WOT Blitz players will get to take control of a modified Mark I tank in a 7-7 battle. Once they complete 10 battles in the Mark I, players will get a special medal to remember the experience. Sounds like fun, and I'm curious to see how Mark I plays.
In honor of the anniversary, Wargaming put out a free Tank 100 [Free] app, created in association with the Tank Museum, that lets you experience an AR WWI tank. Neat idea. The event will start September 19th and will run for a week, so get ready to take that behemoth for a ride.
