Amazon Music App Updated to Support Amazon Music Unlimited
Amazon updated its Amazon Music application to support Amazon Music Unlimited, the company’s new premium music subscription service.
While Amazon Prime members can continue to use the app to access Prime Music–a selection of songs available to stream as part of their Prime memberships–the app can also now be used to access the Amazon Music Unlimited library.
With Amazon Music Unlimited, users can browse new releases, view popular songs and stations and access playlists based on genres, moods and activities, such as running or cleaning. In addition, a recommended section will suggest stations, playlists, albums and songs for users based on their tastes.
Amazon Music Unlimited costs $9.99 per month ($7.99 per month for Prime members), and it allows users to listen to “tens of millions of songs” without ads. The service also allows users to download music for offline listening. Users can try Amazon Music Unlimited for free via a 30-day trial. In the future, Amazon will introduce a Family Plan for Amazon Music Unlimited, which will allow up to six family members to access the service for $14.99 per month.
The Amazon Music app is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play. Users without Amazon Music Unlimited or Amazon Prime subscriptions can use the app to listen to the music in their Amazon libraries.
