Ahead of the release of Moana in theaters Nov. 23, Disney released a new mobile game, iMessage sticker pack and mobile content updates based on the film.
First, Disney released Moana: Rhythm Run, a rhythm-based running game, on iOS. In the game, Moana and other characters from the film run across the screen automatically, and players can tap jump and attack buttons to avoid and remove obstacles in the path. While the game is technically level-based, levels connect as players reach progress checkpoints in the path. That is, players can progress from one level to the next automatically without going back to the menu.
Moana: Rhythm Run contains six worlds of levels to complete, and additional worlds and content will be added to the game in the future. Moana: Rhythm Run is available to download for $4.99 on the iTunes App Store, and the game is coming soon to Google Play. Next, Disney released a Moana-themed animated iMessage sticker pack on iOS. The pack is available to download for free, and it contains three free stickers. Users can unlock 18 additional stickers for $1.99.
In terms of game and app updates, four titles now offer Moana-themed content.
First, Moana, Maui and Pua emojis have been added to Disney Emoji Blitz, Disney’s emoji-themed match-three puzzle game. Each emoji has a special power users can activate while playing. Disney Emoji Blitz is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
