Facebook announced that use of its Facebook Live livestreaming feature reached record levels on New Year?s Eve.
The social network wrote in a Facebook Media blog post:
Since rolling out Facebook Live, we?ve seen people and publishers around the world seize the opportunity to share their experiences as they happen, especially during key cultural moments. Facebook Live has created new opportunities for instantaneous engagement that culminated in peak broadcasts this past week. On New Year?s Eve, millions of people around the world used Facebook Live to broadcast their celebrations. As clocks struck midnight in each time zone, Facebook Live broke records that made this the biggest night since launch. Here are the peaks we saw from countries around the world.
