NYFW #StreetStyle Beat #Runway on Instagram (Infographic)
New York Fashion Week wrapped up last Thursday, and Instagram demonstrated why the platform is so important for the industry. According to a report from user-generated content marketing platform Chute, with 359,000 images shared, the 2016 NYFW surpassed the events from February in Instagram user engagement.

Street style beat out runway looks, with the top performing photos coming from Brazilian actress Giovanna Ewbanks and fashion blogger Camilia Coelho. Overall, 16 percent of the shots shared were #streetstyle and 13 percent were photos from the #runway. Street style isn?t just on trend for fashion week–it is also one of the top trends shaping the future of visual media, according to Shutterstock. While Instagram models and style bloggers are gaining influence at NYFW, the biggest content producers included National Geographic, Disney, H&M, Sephora and Forever 21. However, more than 5,000Â photos were shared from #marcjacobs, with chatter about Kardashian muse Kendall Jenner making up 26 percent of posts.
