Polaroid Swing Turns One-Second Moments Into Moving Photos
Tech startup Swing partnered with Polaroid to launch Polaroid Swing on iOS. The photo-sharing application allows users to create and share moving photos, which animate as users swipe on them or swing their devices.
With Polaroid Swing, users can capture one-second moments that are turned into moving pictures. Users can take photos with both the back- and front-facing cameras on their devices, and they can apply live filters to moving photos before taking them.
Moving photos can be shared with others in the app, as well as on Facebook and Twitter. When viewing moving photos in the app, users can trigger each photo’s animation by swiping on it or by swinging their devices in the real world. Users can swipe or swing in two directions to cause animations to play forwards and backwards. Each moving photo is listed alongside a counter tracking how many times its animation has been triggered.
Users can browse a feed of featured photos, and they can also follow others to easily view their new posts. In addition, users can search for content using hashtags, as well as search for other users to follow. Finally, users can post likes on content.
In a statement, Tommy Stadlen, co-founder of Swing, commented:
Human beings see the world in short moments, not in stills or videos. Memories move, and now photos do, too. The product combines Polaroid’s iconic heritage with cutting-edge innovation.
The Polaroid Swing app is available to download for free on the iT...
