Sentient Play Launches Komrad Interactive Chat Game on iOS
Sentient Play announced the release of Komrad on iOS. The interactive chat game allows users to interact with K.O.M.R.A.D., a Soviet supercomputer powered by artificial intelligence, which was left running when its military base was abandoned 30 years ago.
K.O.M.R.A.D. was without human interaction for the past 30 years, and it doesn’t realize that the Cold War ended. K.O.M.R.A.D. has access to nuclear weapons, and the choices players make while interacting with K.O.M.R.A.D. will determine the fate of the world.
The story in Komrad plays out through text conversations. While chatting with K.O.M.R.A.D., users can frequently choose from multiple responses, and their choices can impact the way the story continues. In addition, the game includes moments when the conversation will pause, and users will need to wait before being able to continue the story.
In a statement, Brad Becker, CEO of Sentient Play, commented:
Interactive chat games are changing the way people experience narrative fiction. Komrad represents Sentient Play?s first step into this world of mobile storytelling?but it won?t be our last. We?re focused on building a narrative games publishing platform so that we can help authors tell their own interactive tales, too.
Komrad is available to download for $2.99 on the iTunes App Store.
