Yahoo relaunched its iOS and Android applications as Yahoo Newsroom, a news app that allows users to explore news in more than 200 categories, called Vibes, as well as to share stories in the app.
With Yahoo Newsroom, users can browse stories from a variety of sources, such as BuzzFeed, The Wall Street Journal, NPR and Yahoo itself. When a user first downloads the app, they can customize their experience by selecting the topics they care about from a list of suggested topics, like entertainment, finance and lifestyle.

Once a user makes their initial selections, the app will present them with a personalized feed of news to read. In addition, the app’s Explore tab allows users to browse stories in different Vibes, which they can also follow. As users read stories, they can post likes and comments on content. Users can like individual comments, and they can also reply directly to other users in the comments section of a story.
Elsewhere, users can share articles they find to Vibes within the app. When a user shares an article or video, they can also share their thoughts about the topic with others to spark a conversation.
