Ebony Spire: Heresy's Items Can be Used By The Player Or their Enemies
Items play a large role in first-person dungeon crawler Ebony Spire: Heresy, as they're the only way to make your character tougher. There's no experience system or typical stat growth beyond them. However, the items you might want to pick up to better yourself can be grabbed by your enemies, who can also use them, making for some frantic moments when you see something good in the distance.
Ebony Spire: Heresy sends players down through twenty floors of turn-based battles, pitting players against all manner of dapper weirdos, cranky stumps, and dual-wielding lizards. If players don't want to know what to expect, though, they can play the game on a generated mode that offers endless stages rather than the scripted ones of the twenty-stage game. Either way, players will have a lot of places to comb through and creatures to fight in this classic roguelike-inspired adventure.
Smart item collection will keep players alive along this journey. Swords, potions, armor, and other goodies are all just lying around for players to grab, and each of these adds a little power to the player. Still, equipables aren't everything, as players will find other useful items like potions and trinkets, all of which can be thrown or drank as well. Just keep in mind that enemies can grab all of these tools and use them too, so if you see a healing potion, you may want to hurry on over before a monster drinks it and screws up your day.
Ebony Spire: Heresy is designed for quick play session...
