Miyamori - A Tale Of Missing Siblings Inspired By Japanese Folklore
In Miyamori, you'll take on the role of a young woman, Suzume, and a fox guardian, Izuna, each leaning on the other's abilities as they both seek out siblings who have gone missing. Using their unique powers, they'll help each other bring their loved ones home in a land inspired by the developer's experiences hiking through Japan.
Developer Joshua Hurd of Sparrow House Games spent some time hiking in the Akita countryside during an exchange in Tohoku, Northern Japan. Absorbing the local folklore and stories, it inspired him to create a game of exploration and adventure built around the local folklore, creating the tale of Suzume and Izuna.
While both characters will be key to moving the game forward, only Izuna's powers have been detailed so far. She'll be able to use foxfire to cleanse evil spirits (who may be responsible for the missing siblings) as well as shapeshift into other creatures to solve in-game problems.
A Kickstarter is supposed to start sometime soon, with more details to come.
