The Signal From Tölva Reveals Dynamic Combat Mechanics And Robot Factions

So far, I love every single thing about The Signal From Tölva, Big Robot's follow-up to tweed-clad, surreal Sir, You're Being Hunted. A large sci-fi FPS with an intriguing world full of huge robot skeletons and strange lifeforms, as well as an overarching mystery that you try to reveal by taking remote control of a robot chassis on the planet surface. The game features dynamic, versatile gunplay and exploration parts in equal measure, and I probably wasn't too far off target when I jokingly called it "Robo-STALKER" earlier this year.
A recent gameplay trailer dives into the dynamic combat mechanics and shows how you can use these to your advantage when dealing with the game's rival robotic factions.

I love the fact that Tölva is full of robots which may pursue their own missions and goals, making the planet feel alive. While the game world is handcrafted, the way other robots react to you seems to allow for some emergent gameplay and some interesting situations. This is indeed something the STALKERgames set out to accomplish but never quite got right. It's too early to tell if The Signal From Tölva can pull it off, but even as a regular sci-fi FPS, it looks promising.
If you'd like a more atmospheric trailer without any talky bits, check out the game's announcement trailer that's been making the rounds for a while now.

The Signal From Tölva is slated for an early 2017 release. You can visit the game's website for more information or follow ...
