Bungie Details Roadmap of Future Destiny 2 Changes, Coming Free to All Players

Now that developers are back in the studio from an extended end-of-year holiday break, it’s time to get back to work on their games. As promised, Bungie released a massive roadmap that details the changes coming to Destiny 2 between now and Fall 2018. Divided into four distinct sections, the roadmap first goes over immediate changes that will be added in an update on January 30 (alongside Iron Banner launching for the first time in 2018). The highlights here include Masterwork armor and a rework of the Raid rewards to drop items with Raid specific perks.
The next section is an update that will be here sometime in February, and includes a rework to the mod system, removing the Nightfall Strike timer in favor of a new scoring mechanic, and other minor changes that should improve the endgame. The next destination is Spring 2018, and it targets a major Crucible rework–including the return of 6v6 matches–and a huge balance pass of all of the game’s weapons and armor. The final update is a lot less specific, targeting Fall 2018 (or sooner), and includes a number of other quality of life changes that players have been clamoring for. All of this is in addition to the changes to Eververse that will be coming with the Crimson Days event next month. You can read the full update plans below.
