Destiny 2 Update 1.1.0 To Come Alongside the Release of Curse of Osiris
In today’s This Week at Bungie blog post, Bungie detailed a number of known issues that are occurring in Destiny 2 right now. While we’ve known that Curse of Osiris will include an update to the balancing sandbox, along with some quality of life changes, Bungie finally confirmed that Destiny 2 update 1.1.0 and hotfix 1.1.1 will be coming at the same time as the first big expansion. This is clearly intended to be a major update to the game. All previous patches have been denoted 1.0.x. Moving into 1.1.x indicates that next major shift Destiny 2’s game world.
What Bungie has yet to detail is exactly what kinds of changes and fixes this update will include. They’ve previously indicated that they are working on a number of major quality of life changes to make the endgame more engaging. Here are the list of things they’ve promised that they are working on, but remember, it’s not known which of these–if any–will make it into Destiny 2 update 1.1.0.
New systems and rewards to give our most engaged players additional, optional pursuits.
Better incentives for players who complete challenging Prestige activities.
Better rewards and replay value for strikes, adventures, and Lost Sectors.
Private matches for the competitive community (we are targeting early 2018).
Crucible tuning like adjusted Supremacy scoring and better spawning rules.
Better incentives for completing Crucible matches (and penalties for quitting competitive games).
