Fortnite Servers Down to Add Horde Bash Update
Epic has taken the Fortnite servers down briefly to add the Horde Bash update today. The servers are scheduled to be down from 4 AM EST, for about an hour, after which the Horde Bash update will be available to all players. This server downtime will affect both the Save the World and Battle Royale players.

You can follow their forum thread for any additional updates, including any unexpected extensions to the downtime. Our impressions of Fortnite paint a picture of a game that is addicting to play with friends, even if the current release is paid access to a free-to-play game. Another area that helps the longevity of the game is how it constantly tasks the player with additional quests. For example, early on the game asked me to find a treasure chest in a level before I could continue with the main missions. This forced me to play in a different style than I was used to, and I had to explore every inch of a level looking for a chest. Eventually I found one in a hidden basement, that was only accessible because I destroyed the floor above it. These moments of discovery are great, and since worlds constantly randomize the placement of hand-designed objects, players are never seeing the same things at the same locations.
