Japanese Sales Chart: Call of Duty Debuts on Top, Super Mario Odyssey Continues to Sell
Once again there’s a new release on top of the Japanese sales chart. In its debut week of sales, Call of Duty: WWII managed to come in first place with over 160,000 sales. That’s made even more impressive by the fact that Call of Duty released later in the week on Friday, rather than on Tuesday.
As far as hardware goes, the Nintendo Switch once again managed to top the charts by a wide margin. It outsold the second best selling console (the PlayStation 4) by nearly 40,000 units.
There was one other new PlayStation release on this week’s chart. The JRPG compilation .hack//G.U. Last Recode came in third (Super Mario Odyssey grabbed the second spot), and sold just over 60,000 copies. That’s a solid entry for what is an enhanced remaster.
According to Media Create, here?s the 20 best-selling retail games (new releases are bolded), along with how each system sold in Japan from October 30 to November 5, 2017: Games (Lifetime)
