Mega Man X Legacy Collection Famitsu Interview: Kazuhiro Tsuchiya Explains the Game Features
Capcom has recently announced Mega Man X Legacy Collection (also known as Rockman X Anniversary Collection in Japan), which gathers all eight Mega Man X games released to date into two volumes while also adding a brand-new mode that will test the player’s skills.
One of the biggest Japanese gaming media outlets, Famitsu, interviewed the game’s producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya at their latest Weekly Famitsu magazine issue. Other than explaining the game features, Tsuchiya also described in detail on how this Mega Man X compilation came to fruition.

Famitsu: The Mega Man X series is reaching its 25th anniversary this year. We?d like to hear about your fond memories. Tsuchiya: When I saw X for the first time, I was moved, like ?What is this cool Mega Man"? Since we moved to SNES, not only the images became prettier, but new actions like dashing and wall-kicking were also added, so a new good point different from [the original] Mega Man was pursued, which left a vivid impression to me.
Famitsu: Indeed, we felt that the way to play it wasn?t in the [original] Mega Man.
