New Metro Game Releasing in 2017, Metro 2035 Site Reveals
According to the website for the next book in the Metro series, Metro 2035, a new Metro video game is releasing in 2017, and it will pick up where the book leaves off.
As part of a timeline at the bottom of the site, “the next Metro video game” is listed for 2017, with the description saying, “It all adds up to something. Where the books end their story, the game will pick it up. An era of great discoveries lies ahead?”
Last month, developer 4A Games put out a letter to the community, addressing those who may have been disappointed by the announcement of their Oculus Touch virtual reality game, ARKTIKA.1. As it turns out, 4A Games is working on two projects right now, and the second (likely the Metro sequel) sounds as if it’s coming to both consoles and PC. Originally released in 2015, with an English version coming in December 2016, Metro 2035 completes the trilogy. As the description shows, it’s a standalone story from the books and games:
The final part of the trilogy takes us back to Artyom and his struggle to get the people back to the above world they once ruled.
