October 2016 Digital Sales Report: Battlefield 1 Debuted in 1st, Titanfall 2 Grossed $18 Million
SuperData’s October 2016 digital sales report shows that worldwide industry sales were up 14% year-over-year to $6.7 billion. This includes $628 million from console digital revenue, which was up 27% thanks to major releases like Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, Mafia III, and Gears of War 4.
The #1 new release in October was Battlefield 1, which grossed $70 million digitally in revenue on console and $110 million when you add in PC. EA’s other big shooter, Titanfall 2, grossed $18 million in October, which is 28% of Titanfall 1’s first month revenue.

Other highlights include FIFA 17 additional content revenue rising to $35 million, and Overwatch’s additional content revenue jumping 29% month-over-month.
As for the other categories, Premium PC rose 78% to $592 million thanks to the strong performance of Civilization VI and the big new titles, pay-to-play dropped 12% to $219 million, free-to-play revenue rose 4% to $1.5 billion, social games remained flat at $618 million, and mobile gaming jumped 15% to $3.1 billion.
