Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Ubisoft?s Chief Executive Officer, Yves Guillemot, confirmed that a new Assassin?s Creed game set in China is in development. The source of the report was an interview Guillemot gave at ChinaJoy 2019, which was then widely reported by Chinese publications and mistranslated by folks online.
A video of the interview, originally in English, is now available and it contradicts reports. As pointed out by Twitter user Daniel Ahmed, Guillemot merely said that he would love to see a mainline Assassin?s Creed game set in China.
