‘Minecraft Earth’ is Now Available in Early Access in the US



Mojang officially unveiled their augmented reality take on Minecraft this past May as a game called Minecraft Earth. A couple of weeks later we got an onstage demo of the game during Apple’s WWDC keynote, and it looked like it had a lot of potential to be a fresh new way to play one of the most popular games of all time. The following month Mojang opened up beta sign ups for a closed beta to take place on iOS, with Android folks getting the opportunity to take part in the closed beta coming the following month. At the beginning of October, Mojang began to roll out the game to App Stores in various regions as part of a soft launch or early access program, and they intended to add more territories every week until the game was fully rolled out everywhere by the end of the year. About a month ago, that early access arrived in New Zealand and Iceland and Mojang said that a US rollout would be happening soon. They weren’t kidding! Today Minecraft Earth is now available in early access in the US on both iOS and Android devices.
