‘PUBG Mobile’ has been pulled in China and replaced with ‘Game for Peace’ from Tencent
PUBG Mobile (Free) has gotten another beta for the worldwide version of the game but the version released in China is has been pulled. Today, Tencent pulled the game in China and launched an alternative that is more patriotic as per a Reuters story. The alternative has approval for monetisation while PUBG Mobile did not. PUBG Mobile in China was essentially still in its testing phase.
Tencent was waiting over a year for approval to monetise PUBG Mobile in China via in app purchases. A post on the official Weibo page for Tencent said it has launched an anti terrorism game called Game for Peace which is approved to be monetised. This game pays tribute to the Chinese air force according to a statement from Tencent via Reuters. Game for Peace is very similar to PUBG Mobile but various aspects have been changed to get approval for monetisation.
