‘Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales’ Has Finally Launched on Android as a Free to Start Release, iOS Premium Version Delisted and Replaced with New Version

Following the release of GWENT on iOS, I was glad to see CDPR bring Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales to mobile through the iOS premium release. If you’ve not played it yet, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is a singleplayer RPG set in the world of The Witcher from CD Projekt Red that debuted on PC and consoles a while ago. Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales released for $9.99 as a fully premium release with cross platform save. At the time, an Android version was set to release in the future. Today, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales has launched on Android as a free to start release alongside the premium iOS version being delisted (available to re-download through purchases) and replaced with a new free to start version. Watch the Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales Android launch trailer below:
I reviewed the premium iOS release and enjoyed my time with it. Read my original review here. The new version on iOS is a completely separate download letting you play a portion of the game for free with an in app purchase ($9.99 depending on your region) to unlock the full game. As of this writing, I’m not sure if CDPR will update the original or support it. If you own the original, it should be listed as Thronebreaker in your purchases while the newly released free to start game is titled The Witcher Tales. The company hasn’t said anything about that but given the developer’s history with The Witcher 3 on console, I’m hopeful for updates to release...
