Capcom Just Released Monster Hunter Stories on iOS and Android in Japan



Capcom just released their recent Nintendo 3DS title Monster Hunter Stories on iOS and Android in Japan. Monster Hunter Stories is a spinoff from the mainline Monster Hunter franchise. Instead of playing as a hunter, you play as a rider here and the game is a turn based RPG that has been developed by Marvelous. The iOS platform isn?t a stranger to Monster Hunter because Capcom ported Monster Hunter Freedom Unite [$14.99] a while ago but this is a recent title that has made its way to both iOS and Android. It is available for 1900 Yen in Japan right now. Watch the trailer for it below:

This is interesting for a couple of reasons. For one, it only released in English speaking regions in September this year and was localized and published by Nintendo. This might cause some trouble for a possible English release on mobile platforms because Nintendo handled the localization and we?ve seen something similar happen with Dragon Quest VII that is still Japanese only. Nevertheless, I?m a big fan of Monster Hunter Stories and played a lot of it on 3DS when it released. If this does ever get an English release, I?ll be there day one.
