Clan Wars are coming to Clash Royale [Free] on April 24th. While the details likely won't come out in full until that update hits, this brings a popular feature from Clash of Clans [Free] over to Clash Royale. In that game, two clans match up in a preparation and battle phase, though Clash Royale likely won't have anything resembling a preparation phase. It's likely that two clans of relatively equal strength will be matched up and face off against one another in a series of battle to prove who's the better clan, with potential rewards. Supercell revealed the feature over the weekend, with a major update set to hit the game on April 24th. Check out the trailer video, which licensed "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley, apparently! This is a huge deal, unless Clan Wars winds up just being a Rickroll.

Supercell recently removed the Clan Chest as an available reward from Clash Royale, with the promise that "all of the rewards that the Clan Chest gives will be pumped into another feature." Turns out Supercell wasn't under-delivering on that, as Clan Wars might serve as an adequate way to get clans working together in Clash Royale beyond just trying to get chests. Of course, a massive developer making a huge change to player compensation is always something to be wary of, especially when Supercell made less money in 2017 than in 2016! Hmm!
