HopFrog’s Farming/Crafting/Exploration Adventure ‘Forager’ is Finally Released on iOS
It has been a tumultuous road for Forager on iOS, to say the least. Following its hugely successful outings on PC and console, developer HopFrog announced as a part of the game’s 1st birthday back in April that an iOS version of Forager was in the works, and like on those other platforms it would be published by Humble Games. A couple of months later we learned that the iOS version would launch with all of the additional content that had been added to other versions of the game, and then at the beginning of September Humble sent us an email newsletter announcing the iOS version’s release date as September 24th. However, the night before that date, mere hours before the game was to launch on iOS, Humble sent us another email stating that “Forager’s mobile release has been pushed to 2021." Man, what a bummer! Well, I don’t know what wires were crossed between Humble’s PR, HopFrog, and whoever is doing the iOS version, but it turns out Forager on iOS is NOT delayed until 2021 and in fact it is available right this second. This is my favorite emoticon in general, but it also seems entirely apt for this whole situation: ¯_(?)_/¯
Whatever the case may be with the delays, un-delays, and what have you, Forager is a bad ass game that should be a perfect fit on mobile. It has a bit of the farming and crafting elements of Stardew Valley, the exploration aspects of something like Minecraft, the action elements of Terraria, and it’...
