It’s been more than 26 years since Revolution Software launched their landmark adventure game Beneath a Steel Sky on PC, and now it appears its long-awaited sequel is finally nearing launch. It’s titled Beyond a Steel Sky, and funnily enough, it began life as a failed stretch goal during the Kickstarter campaign for Broken Sword 5: The Serpent?s Curse ($4.99) back in 2012. Although they didn’t quite hit the stretch goal amount, Revolution was really touched by the enthusiasm from the fans towards the idea of a sequel to their 1994 cult classic, and so they promised that a sequel would become a reality sometime in the future. When Apple originally announced Apple Arcade back in March of last year, Beyond a Steel Sky was one of the games confirmed for the platform, which seemed fitting as it was about ten years prior that Revolution released an excellent remastered version of the original on the iOS platform called Beneath a Steel Sky: Remastered ($2.99). Obviously Beyond a Steel Sky takes on quite a different form than its 1994 predecessor. The visuals are all done in full 3D with a comic book-esque art style reminiscent of something like the Borderlands games. However, the tone of the game that skirts between comical and serious and the entire dystopian vibe of the game are unmistakably in the same vein...
