Nintendo's Mobile Version of 'Animal Crossing' Has Been Delayed Until the Next Fiscal Year



It's been a fantastic time to be a Nintendo fan in the world of mobile gaming recently. As well as the runaway successes that were Super Mario Run [Free] and Pokemon GO [Free], Fire Emblem Heroes is merely days away, and the Nintendo Switch is receiving glowing praise amongst critics as it looks to blend the power and pedigree of console gaming with the portability of handheld and mobile devices. However, despite such excitement and anticipation, many are still wondering as to what Nintendo's plans are regarding their mobile iteration of Animal Crossing, which was announced at the same time as Fire Emblem. Sadly, in Nintendo's most recently released financial statement, Animal Crossing on the iPhone has been moved to the next fiscal year, and as a result you won't be able to dive into a colorful and quirky world of anthropomorphic animals and creatures until this April at the earliest.
While it is somewhat disappointing that Nintendo have delayed Animal Crossing beyond their initial plan to launch the game by the end of March, it does make sense with the sort of release schedule that the publisher has in place for the coming weeks.
