PAX 2016: A Look at the 'Crashlands' Campaign Editor



It's no secret that we really love Crashlands [$4.99] around here, and one of the early things we heard of (I think from a GDC meeting") was how they had plans to publicly release all the tools they used to make the game so players themselves can customize their own campaigns. Well, the dudes at Butterscotch Shenanigans have been hard at work polishing it up and are getting close to unleashing it to the world. Here's what the editor looks like in action:

I seriously can't wait to see what kind of insane stuff the Crashlands community comes up with, at PAX they showed off the demo seen in the video which was quickly created using this tool... So, it stands to reason if you spent a little more time you could make something even cooler than the demo that countless PAX attendees played this afternoon. If nothing else, I'm super excited for playing the inevitable dickworld, as, you know, as soon as you open up the ability for players to create things, wieners are everywhere. It's just a universal law of player created content.
