It’s been just about a year since Spiderweb Software announced that they’d be digging into their back catalog and remastering their unique 2001 open-ended RPG Geneforge, and that also means that their planned release window of Q1 2021 is also fast approaching. With that, today Spiderweb has announced the release date for the desktop version of the remastered title, which is officially called Geneforge 1 ? Mutagen, and it will be arriving on digital storefronts such as Steam and GOG on February 24th for both Windows and Mac machines. As we’ve discussed before, Geneforge is a very open-ended style of RPG where you play as a “Shaper" who has the ability to create life at will. You can choose to be a fierce combatant on your own, or create an army of creatures to do your bidding for you. Or you can avoid violence altogether and try to achieve your in-game goals through diplomacy. As with many Spiderweb games, they give you a huge set of tools and leave it up to you to find your own path through the game. Get an idea of what Geneforge 1 ?
