Square Enix Is Bringing the Previously PS Vita Exclusive ?SaGa Scarlet Grace? to iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch This Year and an English Release Is Likely



Square Enix revealed SaGa Scarlet Grace for Nintendo Switch during the Nintendo Direct that just aired. The 2016 released PlayStation Vita title was apparently heading to the Switch but soon after the Direct, they confirmed that it is not just coming to Switch but to basically every platform including iOS and Android. SaGa Scarlet Grace is an interesting game in the long running SaGa franchise. It was also one of the last few PlayStation Vita only games from Square Enix. Romancing SaGa 2 [$17.99] was interesting with how it handled grinding which is something a lot of people including myself use to break RPGs. SaGa Scarlet Grace is the first original console game in the franchise since 2002 and it has been written by Akitoshi Kawazu. It features various improvements from previous SaGa games and lets you play as four different protagonists through separate stories. Watch the trailer for it below:

So you?re probably wondering why a localization or English release is likely based on the fact that a Vita game being ported to multiple platforms. Having Steam as a platform basically implies a Western or English release in almost every situation. There is rarely a situation where a publisher does a Steam port of a Japanese game for Japan given the market there and in the past when Square Enix has announced a game for Steam in Japan, it has always been localized.
