Contents of the ‘Double Dragon & Kunio-kun: Retro Brawler Bundle’ to Be Sold Separately

A couple of months ago, Arc System Works released a localized version of its excellent 8-bit beat-em-up collection in the west under the title Double Dragon & Kunio-kun: Retro Brawler Bundle. For $39.99, it gave you 18 titles to play, the bulk of which were heretofore untranslated versions of games from the Famicom Kunio-kun/River City series. It even offered enhanced versions of most of the games, allowing you to play with less slowdown and flicker if you wanted to. Well, if you had your eye on one or two of the games from the set but didn’t want to plunk down forty bucks, you may be in luck. A listing for Double Dragon II: The Revenge has appeared on the eShop, set to release tomorrow for $4.99. Its description makes it clear that this is the version from the Retro Brawler Bundle, and I have to believe this isn’t going to be the only game Arc System Works chooses to sell this way.
