In the news today, some Switch-related Resident Evil news, Vampyr plans to take a bite out of the Switch, and Team Sonic Racing hits a speed bump and drives off in to 2019. Before we get to all that, it’s time for a very special Game of the Day, and I don’t mean like one of those “very special Growing Pains" episodes where Jason Seaver finds a joint in Mike Seaver’s backpack.

Sometimes there’s a rhyme or reason for me to talk about a specific game for the Game of the Day, and today is one of those such times. Super Mario Odyssey celebrates its one-year anniversary tomorrow, and since we won’t be here over the weekend, it’s a perfect time to talk about the game now! I found the abundance of Power Moons to collect to be addicting to nab. It’s easy to stumble upon dozens in one’s first visit to a world (or kingdom as they’re called in the game), but the more cryptic and challenging ones are all the most rewarding to earn. Sure, you can just rush through Super Mario Odyssey getting the bare minimum Power Moons necessary to progress to new kingdoms within the game and clear the story, but you rob yourself of the majority of creative challenges–both platform...
