'The Hacker 2.0' Is a Turn-Based Strategy Puzzle From 'Drylands' Developer
When you see a screenshot from the upcoming The Hacker 2.0 by the developers of Drylands [$2.99], it will remind you a lot of Deus Ex GO and Hitman GO, and the developer does admit that those games were an inspiration. However, this game, which takes place within a VR environment, is more focused on strategy and on using your different functions - skills you can buy, upgrade, and equip - to make it through the many levels. You can use your functions to block an enemy's path, delete an enemy altogether, or even teleport yourself around the level. I hope there's a great variety of these functions because being able to pick and choose will increase the game's replayability.
Like in the original The Hacker [$0.99] - which we really enjoyed when we reviewed it - you'll spend a lot of time using your virtual desktop to select missions, upgrade functions, and so on. The game even has a use for your Apple Watch; you can use it to obtain extra coins. The game will release as a free app with ads.
