Facebook Testing Jobs Tab on Pages
Does Facebook have LinkedIn in its crosshairs"
A new Jobs tab showed up on TechCrunch?s Facebook page, and the social network confirmed to Josh Constine of TechCrunch that it was part of a test, saying:
Based on behavior we?ve seen on Facebook, where many small businesses post about their job openings on their pages, we?re running a test for page administrators to create job postings and receive applications from candidates.
Constine reported that page admins can share job openings in their status update composers, with details including job title, salary and full-time or part-time, and users can click an Apply Now button to be directed to job applications that are pre-populated with information from their public profiles. Pages receive completed applications as Facebook messages.
Constine speculated that Facebook?s test of profile tags in 2015Â was conducted with an eye toward potential new features such as the jobs tab on pages.
