Pinterest announced Thursday that it has surpassed 150 million monthly active users, growing its total by some 50 percent year-over-year.
The social network also shared the following statistics in an email to SocialTimes:

80 million of those 150 million MAUs are from outside of the U.S.
75 percent of its signups are from outside of the U.S.
40 percent of its signups globally are men, with that gender growing at 70 percent year-over-year.
The number of Pins saved by men is growing at 80 percent year-over-year, and the number of men actively searching on Pinterest is up 55 percent over the same time period.
Pinterest grew more in its five managed countries?U.K., France, Germany, Brazil, Japan?in the first half of 2016 than it did in all of 2015. Pinterest is serving 10 billion recommendations daily, double last year?s figure.
150 million visual searches are performed on Pinterest every month, along with more than 2 billion text-based idea searches.
There are more than 1 million businesses on Pinterest, along with ?tens of thousands? of advertisers.
There are more than 10 million buyable products on Pinterest, from more than 25,000 merchant partners, including Bloomingdale’s, Wayfair, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s and Nordstrom.

And Pinterest co-founder and CEO Ben Silbermann added in a blog post:
