Pokemon Go: Niantic Previews Capture Bonuses, More
Niantic revealed two new updates coming to Pokemon Go in the future.
The first update will allow players to earn capture bonuses as they earn medals based on capturing specific kinds of Pokemon (Kindler, Psychic, Gardener, etc.). As a user earns capture bonuses, they’ll have a better chance of capturing Pokemon with the related types.
In addition, as players unlock higher medal tiers, their capture bonuses will increase.
In a blog post, Niantic explained how the game will handle bonuses for Pokemon that have multiple types:
If a Pokemon has multiple types, your bonus will be the average of your bonuses for each type. For example, Pidgey is both Normal and Flying type. Your bonus in this case would be the average of your Normal-type and Flying-type bonuses. Elsewhere, Niantic also previewed an update coming to the game’s Gym feature. Specifically, with this update, when a user is training at a friendly Gym, they’ll be able to take six Pokemon to battle instead of only one.
Niantic added:
In addition, the CP of the Pokemon you are training against may be temporarily adjusted lower during your training session to generally match your Pokemon?s battle capabilities.
Niantic didn’t reveal release dates for either of these updates.
Pokemon Go is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
