Pokemon Go Update Brings Back Battery Saver Mode on iOS

Niantic released the latest update for Pokemon Go on mobile devices. The update includes the return of the game’s battery saver mode on iOS, which had previously been removed. Specifically, Niantic said it “resolved issues with the battery saver mode on iOS and re-enabled the feature.”
Next, this update added a dialog that tells players they shouldn’t play the game while “traveling above a certain speed.” When this dialog appears, players will need to confirm that they are not driving in order to keep playing the game.
Elsewhere, this update fixed a bug that prevented users from earning bonus experience points for “nice,” “great” and “excellent” Poke Ball throws. In addition, Niantic added the ability for players to change their in-game nickname one time. In a previous update, the game’s tracking footprints for nearby Pokemon were removed. With this update, Niantic provided an update on the status of the feature:
We?re currently testing a variation of the ?Nearby Pokemon? feature with a subset of users. During this period you may see some variation in the nearby Pokemon UI.
Pokemon Go is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play. Application store optimization company Sensor Tower recently estimated that the game surpassed $200 million in worldwide net revenue on iOS and Android in its first month of availability.
