Rovio Partners With De La Soul for Angry Birds Action Update
Rovio partnered with hip hop group De La Soul to release the Big Pig Update in Angry Birds Action on mobile. The update allows players to listen to a new song by De La Soul called Action, which the group created specially for the game.
In Angry Birds Action, players complete levels by flinging birds around the playing field.
As part of this update, players can participate in a week-long event that features the members of De La Soul in bird form. During the event, all players will have unlimited energy as a special power.
Elsewhere, the Big Pig Update adds 90 new levels to the game, and it also unlocks the game’s Piggy Island content for all players. Previously, users could only unlock the game’s Piggy Island content by going to see the Angry Birds Movie in theaters, and opening the game during the film’s credits. In a statement, Miika Tams, vice president of games at Rovio, commented:
We are thrilled to be collaborating with all-time hip hop greats De La Soul to bring fun new content to Angry Birds Action! In this major update, we also wanted to thank fans for making The Angry Birds Movie a No. 1 hit in 52 countries, so we thought it was a great time to unlock Piggy Island for everyone.
Angry Birds Action is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
