Electronic Arts has launched the newest content update for The Simpsons: Tapped Out on mobile, bringing a new Christmas event to players.
This event begins with Homer and Ned competing to have the best Christmas decorations on their homes, and introduces new Christmas ‘skins’ for these buildings. From there, Merrymakers will appear around town to celebrate the season, and players can tap on them to receive event currency. As players complete event quests, they’ll unlock new Christmas skins for additional buildings, like the First Church of Springfield, as an example.
As players collect event currency, they?ll unlock new prizes for their town, including the Springfield Orphanage and Virgil?s Cabin buildings, among other items. In addition to earning currency from Merrymakers, users can send their characters to complete specific jobs to earn extra currency.
As part of this event, players will build four new attractions in their town, starting with the ?Best Snowman Ever.? Additional attractions include a Gingerbread Mansion, Exotic Petting Zoo and Reindeer Burger Truck. This Christmas event is split into three timed acts, with the Exotic Petting Zoo and Reindeer Burger Truck being part of Act Two.
Elsewhere, players can complete new weekly challenges by sending characters on specific jobs or tapping on Merrymakers, as examples. New challenges are unlocked each week.
