Twitter Adds Message Button for Websites

Twitter Wednesday rolled out a button for websites that will allow visitors to send private messages to the individuals or companies behind those sites.
The social network announced in a tweet that the new Message button is now available here for use on all websites:
Announcing our new Message button. Now people can easily slide into your DMs from your website. Get yours now! https://t.co/ash9ouvgzu

The addition of the Message button for websites is likely aimed at encouraging Twitter users to send direct messages to businesses, rather than tweeting businesses or sending tweets with businesses? Twitter handles included. Twitter said in the Twitter Publish entry for the new button:
Direct messages are the private side of Twitter, and the message button makes it easy to start a private conversation with you. It works best when your account settings allow you to receive direct messages from anyone, whether or not they follow you.
