Twitter: Ramadan Tweets Viewed More Than 10.7 Billion Times
Twitter announced that tweets related to Ramadan, which ended July 5, were viewed more than 10.7 billion times, up from 8.4 billion in 2015.
Media partnerships director, Middle East Kinda Ibrahim said in a blog post that there were more than 7.1 million tweets about television shows and series related to Ramadan during the Holy Month, June 5 through July 5.
Ibrahim added that Twitter teamed up with regional broadcaster MBC 1 to allow users to subscribe to a service that sent them reminder tweets when their favorite Ramadan-related shows were about to begin.

Twitter?s special crescent moon emoji for Ramadan appeared if any of the following hashtags were included in tweets:
We wish you peace and happiness on this joyous occasion of #EidulFitr. #EidMubarak pic.twitter.com/aTXHshcmfD

And when Periscope users added any of these hashtags to their broadcasts, hearts transformed into crescent moons, as well, and Ibrahim said this marks Periscope?s first-ever custom heart designed for Ramadan.
A new @ramadhan account was launched with a focus on Indonesia, and Ibrahim wrote that tweets from that account were viewed more than 1.7 million times during the month-long holiday.
Ibrahim also highlighted several Ramadan-related tweets, some of which are embedded below.
