WhatsApp to Launch Video Calling
WhatsApp announced Tuesday that video calling will launch for Android, iPhone and Windows Phone ?in the coming days.?
The Facebook-owned messaging application said in a blog post that the feature had been requested by many users ?over the years,? adding:
We?re introducing this feature because we know that sometimes voice and text just aren?t enough. There?s no substitute for watching your grandchild take her first steps, or seeing your daughter?s face while she?s studying abroad. And we want to make these features available to everyone, not just those who can afford the most expensive new phones or live in countries with the best cellular networks.

WhatsApp also announced that it now has 160 million monthly active users in India, its most popular market, topping parent company Facebook?s total of 155 million MAUs in the country.
Manish Singh of Mashable reported that WhatsApp vice president Neeraj Arora made the announcement at a media event introducing the new video calling feature, adding that the app now supports more than 10 local Indian languages.
