YouTube Videos Can Keep Earning Revenue During Content ID Disputes

YouTube announced in April that it was developing a solution to enable videos to continue to earn revenue during disputes of Content ID claims, and that solution arrived Tuesday.
Content ID product manager David Rosenstein announced in a blog post that all content creators in the YouTube Partner Program can now take advantage of the solution, which works as follows: Ads will continue to be run against videos, and YouTube will hold funds from those ads separately until the Content ID dispute is resolved. He added:
While you can dispute a Content ID claim at any time, the vast majority of disputes are made within the first five days of a claim being placed on your videos. Our new system is designed accordingly: If you choose to dispute a claim within the first five days of receiving it, we will hold revenue from the day the Content ID claim was placed. If you choose to dispute a Content ID claim after five days of the original claim, we will start holding the revenue on the date the dispute is made. Read more about how this works here.
