Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Gets a Gameplay Trailer, Final Character Count “Won’t Be Disappointing”



Featuring Ultron, Chun-Li, Hulk, Strider Hiryu, Thor, Chris Redfield, Hawkeye, and the Space Stone, a new Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite gameplay trailer was released today.
Included in the Deluxe Edition is the 2017 Character Pass, which grants access to six post-launch DLC characters as they release by the end of the year. As Producer Mike Evans revealed in an interview with TrustedReviews, you won’t be able to unlock the additional characters in-game like you can in Street Fighter V:
All we?re announcing right now is the 2017 Character Pass, which will feature the six DLC characters, the first of which is Sigma. The other thing I can say is that the game will not feature dual-currency like Street Fighter V. We don?t have an in-game ‘sweat equity’ currency, it will be more traditional in that sense with straight-up DLC. Looking at the characters on the launch roster, 14 have been announced so far, and Evans told Metro that “we have many more announcements coming. But I can?t say about the final number.” He did say that the final number of characters “won’t be disappointing” though.
On the Marvel side of things, Evans confirmed that the characters aren’t “based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” so you’ll see characters Marvel doesn’t have the cinematic rights to.
