Attentat 1942 Shows WWII From the Perspective Of Its Survivors
Attentat 1942 looks to offer players a sobering, personal take on the events of the second world war, having them go through interviews, archived footage, interactive graphic novel segments, and minigames that will draw them into the horrifying accounts of those who lived through and survived the horrors of the time.
Researched and written by a team of historians, Attentat 1942 tells a story of a young man who finds out his grandfather was arrested by the Gestapo during the war after the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, lead architect of the Holocaust. This young man wants to know why his grandfather was arrested around this time, and what role he played during that era.
This means bringing the player along for a dive into history, digging through footage of events, interviews with survivors, and graphic novel segments that tell the stories of what their lives were like during that period. Players will brush up close to these real accounts, interacting with them and controlling some events and actions as they experience the stories themselves. While many stories will be told to them, it's through living through the cruelties of these times that they will, hopefully, come away with a sense of what it was like.
Attentat 1942 offers an unflinching look at the viciousness of World War II, spoken aloud by those who lived through it - a game that seems absolutely necessary to play during these bleak days.
Attentat 1942 is available for $10.99 on Steam. For more ...
