Corn And Spirituality Let You Face The End Of The World In Lonely Star
A spiritual warrior's work does not end despite the imminent destruction of the world. Ghosts of the past have come back to haunt the planet in its twilight, and your job is to exorcise these lost and angry spirits in the doomed wastelands of Lonely Star, an action RPG in the final days of its Kickstarter.
But you have a powerful ally. Corn.
Strange phantoms have spread out throughout the world with the coming of the star, and while not all of them are hostile, they are dangerous and outnumber you. Melee weapons will damage the spirits, but hiding and outflanking them works as well. Still, your most powerful tool is corn, which carries the power of magic and life. Using it with various learned techniques will let the player hurl fire or cast obscuring smoke, as well as other useful abilities.
Corn is life, brought up from the earth, and life and energy are the only things of power and value left in the world. Learning how to harvest it, as well as hunt and live off what remains of the land, is something else you'll need to do to survive in Lonely Star. You can also trade this life energy with the other people of the world, meeting those who've accepted annihilation, those who now live in fear, and others who sit somewhere in between. It's your job to help these people as well, doing all the good you can before the end.
You can take on some of this surreal, somber, and deadly journey now by playing the demo from the game's Kickstarter site.
