In Action-RPG Quote, Knowledge Is The Ultimate Danger

The world of Vindit's Quote is one defined by ignorance. Knowledge has been purged, the population lives in blind bliss. But some dare to keep their precious books and their wisdom, and it's your job as inquisitor to seek how this informed heretics and quite literally beat the knowledge out of them with your magically-imbued Book of Bliss.

Yes, in Quote, you're the bad guy. The titular warrior metes out justice with tome in hand, bludgeoning enemies with a simple pushes, dashes, and slams that slowly expand into combos and special attacks. But your most powerful weapon are books themselves; by feeding these unlawful texts to your beaked companion Tatters, Quote can unlock fierce new abilities, ranging from teleporting strikes to wide ranged blasts.
But Quote's homeland is perhaps even weirder than its history and book-based magic. Inspired by the surrealist works of Hieronymus Bosch, each vibrant isometric level is more otherworldly than the last as you travel these lands in your pursuit. Odd statues and reliefs adore the walls, organic structures clutter the background, misshapen inhabitants dance or worship, flee, fight back.

Quote released recently on Steam Early Access for $14.99, currently featuring the game's prologue and opening two chapters, as well as the procedurally-generated Infinite Library. More chapters, outfits, abilities, and lore will come in the future. You can learn more about the game and developer on Vindit's site and Twitter page.
